Singing Standards: Audition to Performance

This fun and exciting class will be focused on skills that all singers should know from the process of auditioning through the process of performing. It will involve an audition workshop with an audition accompanist and will teach students how to speak to and work with a pianist whom they have never met before. It will involve multiple levels of feedback on how to prepare for an audition, including information on resumes and headshots. Each student will come prepared with one song from an age appropriate list of music (There will be a list of appropriate songs on the website) and we will focus on the chosen song throughout the week. Each student will also receive a new song on the first day and learn tactics and techniques for learning, preparing and performing music in a short amount of time. There will be a final performance on the last day of class where each student will perform their two selections. This class is ideal for singers of all levels and will help to differentiate a talented singer from a professional, talented artist.
